The Kindergarten Readiness Program schedule is Monday-Friday, from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. during the school year. (The After School Program is available from 3:00-5:30 p.m. Pre-registration and fees apply.)
The Kindergarten Readiness Program is designed to prepare children for their kindergarten experience. Children must be 4 years old prior to June 1 st of the year for which application is being made. All children are required to be potty trained prior to admission into the program. A variety of experiences are provided to teach the children in a hands-on atmosphere. Each classroom has centers to provide children with activities such as writing, art, dramatic play, and books. Children are introduced to the letters of the alphabet and the phonetic sound of each letter. Children are taught to recognize numbers up to 20 and to count to 100. As the year progresses, children begin blending sounds together to begin their pre-reading experience. Fine motor skills such as handwriting and using scissors are also worked on during the school year. A daily Bible time teaches children about the love that God has for them. The children are also taught about the birth of Jesus: His ministry here on Earth, His crucifixion and resurrection from the dead, and our life as a believer in Him.
SNACKS/LUNCH
The family is responsible to provide a morning snack and a lunch for their child. Also, an additional snack will be needed for any child staying in the after school program.
Due to a few students with severe food allergies, the Kindergarten Readiness classrooms will be peanut free.
